The overall quality of a Clinical Lab's work is evident during the whole process. Beginning with the patient's admission and up to the delivery of results that the physician will use as a basic instrument to determine his patient's health care.

Since 1995 Almater Hospital has included an in-house integral laboratory service by Pathology Medical Laboratories (PML), a clinical reference lab with quality standards equal to those of the American College of Pathologists (ACP), noticable for offering best quality integral service and for its care and respect for the environment in compliance with the official Mexican norms for the management and disposal of dangerous biological residues.

PML offers an integral and timely service of clinical and pathology exams 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for which we have established and developed a professional team, constantly supervised by a fully licensed chemist who is backed by a technical team, secretaries and receptionists that operate within a constant improvement program which includes permanent training and updating of the computer equipment and software which constitute an important part of the infrastructure of every lab.

• Complete hematology and coagulation studies

BLOOD BANK

On certain occasions the medical treatment of a patient requires the use of blood or its derivative byproducts, in these cases besides the importance of having them on hand, it is essential for the patient and the donor to have the certainty that the procedure will be done in accordance with the strictest norms of quality and asepsis.

At Almater Hospital we have the Centro Hematologico de Mexicali, the first Blood Bank to operate in a private hospital in Mexicali, capable of offering blood and its byproducts with complete safety and efficiency 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The products and services offered in the Centro Hematologico are: WHOLE BLOOD and ERITROCITE CONCENTRATE FRESH FROZEN PLASMA CONCENTRATED PLATELETS CRYOPRECIPITATES CLASSIFICATION OF DONORS AND RECEPTORS COMPATIBILITY TESTS PHLEBOTOMIES

We also have a Plateletpheresis and Plasmapheresis service using a Baxter CS3000 Plus equipment that allows us to obtain plaquettes and plasma from one donor with a frequency of up to every three days if necessary, without major risk to the donor or the receiver, and the ability to obtain blood byproducts, with a yield of almost 10 times the donated blood.

Our personnel is certified by the Centro Nacional de Transfusion Sanguinea and is supervised by a Hematologist physician certified by the Mexican Consul of Hematology
