Hospitalization
Complete facilities and equipment for comprehensive medical attention
Besides the skills and knowledge of a hospital’s staff, the quality of a procedure depends, in great part, on the infrastructure of the hospital, specially when hospitalization is required due to the seriousness of an illness or to the uniqueness of a medical or surgical treatment that is going to be administered.
At Almater Hospital we have 48 individual rooms in our hospitalization area, all properly attended and supervised by one of our three nurse stations in the hospital, which are completely intercommunicated to ensure effective care of all our patients.
We have a wide array of medical technology and installations to cover the needs of practically any ailment:
- Eight beds in our Intensive Care Unit
- Two stations in our Pediatric Inensive Care Unit
- Permanent non-invasive monitoring
- Telemetry
- Assisted and controlled ventilation therapy
- Parenteral nutrition
- Hemodialisis
- Inhalation therapy
All our rooms have oxygen and suction installations, as well as telephone and television sets for the comfort of our patients.
Special hospitalization for newborn babys
For newborns, Almater Hospital offers a physiological crib area with eight cribs and specially trained nurses.
Special care systems
Many circumstances call for a more controlled, specialized and exhaustive care program at the beginning or during the hospitalization process. In these cases, the services of an ICU or Intensive Therapy Units are indispensable.
When these conditions occur, medical attention from the nursing staff takes place in accordance with strict international intensive care protocols, which require, in general, a larger amount of nurses, sometimes to the rate of more than one specialized nurse per patient. Medical procedures are managed by ICU specialists linking other medical areas. Technology is state-of-the-art which requires permanent training of the staff for compliance. Telemetry and non-invasive monitoring equipment (which offers a higher degree of comfort to the patient) undergo periodic maintenance procedures specified by the manufacturers. In case of any contingency, we have a team of bioengineers trained for even last generation technology.
Five adult patient and three intensive care beds for pediatric patients have a complete monitoring system and are constantly verified by a monitoring station. With this system we cover all the requirements to treat the patient with assisted ventilation (computerized ventilators and respirators), administer parenteral feeding (IV feeding with perfectly balanced nutritional substances for each patient's special needs) and many other highly specialized services.
The Intermediate Therapy and Isolated Patient areas are an important additionthat allow the patient to return to a familiar atmosphere with utmost safety.
